Job Title: Part time Welder. Are you looking for extra hours on top of your regular full time job? This may be the opportunity for you!

Hours / week: 17-25.5 hours/not set and very flexible

Reporting to: Continuous Improvement Manager

Position Overview

We are a large, full-service marina nestled in the southwest corner of beautiful Penetanguishene Harbour. As the largest independently owned marina on Georgian Bay, we understand the importance of meeting customer expectations. We are currently seeking a Welder who will perform various welding tasks on docks, equipment, and structures.

Essential Job Functions

Process, fabricate and weld structural steel and various custom steel projects

Perform welding repairs on docks

Operate manual welding equipment

Conduct repairs, modifications and retrofits

Other Skills and Abilities

Ability to work well with others

Ability to work well under pressure

Effective communicator both verbally and in writing

Adhere to established safe working procedures and wear the proper PPE

Requirements

CWB tickets are an asset

Marine construction experience is preferred

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent

2+ years of welding experience

Must possess a valid driver's license Travel to other sites from time to time (with use of company vehicle) Strong knowledge and skill in operating metalworking machinery

Working Conditions

Required to move, lift, carry, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50lbs without assistance

Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period or for an entire shift

Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting and pulling

Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces

May encounter excessive noise from boat engines and equipment

Will encounter noxious smells from wastewater, gasoline and diesel fuel

Will encounter hazardous materials, dangerous or toxic substances and chemicals
