Manufacturing Team Lead / Supervisor


Hours of work:

3:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. Monday to Thursday



Job Purpose: The overall purpose of this position is to tack or weld components and assemblies using gas or other welding equipment to safely produce the required quantity and quality of parts, on schedule in accordance with Company specifications.


Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:




Read, learn, understand and interpret work instructions, work orders, and other instructions written and verb

Bolt, clamp or tack-weld, use fixtures/jigs to secure parts in position for welding

Remove rough spots, rust, excess weld, slag or spatter with portable grinder

Operate powered and manual welding equipment to weld or tack weld components meeting quotas

Dismantle metal assemblies or cut scrap metal using thermal cutting equipment

Stack completed parts in a safe manner

Perform regular quality checks during production runs.

Complete red tags for defective product.

Complete work orders filling in the time spent and the quantity of parts completed

Complete tags showing the location for finished parts

Maintain inventory of required parts

Maintain a clean and organized work area and maintain all equipment requiring maintenance according to maintenance guidelines and established procedures.


Continue to grow Lean knowledge and use the tools to identify and assist with continuous improvement to product and processes.


Education and Experience:




Completion of high school or GED, or 3 - 5 years relevant manufacturing experience required

Welding course is an asset

2 - 3 years previous experience with good knowledge of MIG welding equipment and tacking of parts. Experience with TIG an asset.

Basic computer skills

Must possess the ability to read blueprints and basic parts drawings
