The world needs more Canada. Destination Canada is looking for an Website Content Coordinator to join our Vancouver team as we inspire travellers to explore Canada. You are Destination Canada\xe2\x80\x99s main resource for updating and maintaining all our owned and managed websites. You are organized, efficient, attentive to details, and can work in a fast-paced environment that balances ongoing projects with daily tasks. You are proficient with website CMS systems, best practices for website user experience (UX) and efficient Project Management. You can project manage cross-functional implementations from creative concepts built into pages or microsites to deployment of digital products. You conduct A/B testing and work as a team to continually improve our digital products. You have experience building landing page and documenting marketing goals and opportunities into website functionality and technical requirements. You are able to manage technical website development work such as feature updates, enhancement and ongoing upgrades and maintenance and lead through multi-level cross-unit projects. You also know how to select good photos and are passionate about creating appealing, functional pages and websites. You feel comfortable with simple copy editing and you understand the principles of search engine optimization (SEO) and the foundations of website accessibility. Note: The successful candidate will be working under Destination Canada\xe2\x80\x99s Hybrid Working Model. This model requires all employees to work 2-3 days/week in the office in Vancouver. The remainder of the work week can be spent working from a home office. DUTIES : Reporting to the Digital Product Manager, the successful candidate is responsible for continuously updating all of Destination Canada\xe2\x80\x99s owned and managed websites; project management for technical website development work Key accountabilities include:
  • collaborate with our web development agency and other external vendors as well as many internal website stakeholders.
  • assist in testing new functionality, working closely with internal teams and website owners to ensure the content and website structure are meeting the needs of our target audience in each market; ensuring websites are working smoothly and that they uphold industry standards of SEO and User Experience (UX).
  • support the rollout of the creation and documentation of site governance processes; manage all website related documentation and CMS manuals and training; provide input on evolving CMS\xe2\x80\x99s and innovation on functionality and user experience,
  • editing and creation of pages, new features and functionality in the CMS, build and upload new content and support the business units with additional requirements; and conduct general site maintenance. This position is one of the first touchpoints for the organization for most website related requests as well as website issues and handles the incident management processes by investigating, testing and escalating bugs and incidents accordingly.
  • work with external contractors and partners on website maintenance; content sourcing and general knowledge sharing; and support for website and content testing initiatives.

Essential Qualifications EDUCATION: Degree or certificate from a recognized institute in administrative support or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience EXPERIENCE: When applying, the candidate must clearly demonstrate in writing how they meet the following experience criteria:
  • 2 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in CMS systems (Drupal and Wordpress, a plus);
  • Experience in supporting the maintenance of websites and content;
  • Experience with SEO;
  • Experience with tagging assets using metadata taxonomies;
  • Experience in working with marketing and creative teams;
  • Experience in leading and working with external vendors and agencies
KNOWLEDGE:
  • Advanced knowledge of content building and content management systems (CMS)
  • Knowledge of project management best practices and tools
  • Knowledge of general website technology (html, tagging, metadata)
  • Knowledge of SEO principles
  • Knowledge of website usability and user experience
  • Knowledge of writing and editing
  • Knowledge of user experience and / or website design a plus
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics a plus
  • Knowledge of digital advertising and social media marketing a plus
ABILITIES:
  • Self-motivated, resourceful with the ability to work under tight deadlines with multiple deliverables and changing priorities
  • Ability to manage priorities and schedule requirements and deliverables
  • Ability to learn new technologies and software
  • Ability to do independent research in order to fix simple issues
  • Ability to support multiple projects/initiatives
  • Ability to lead small projects with cross functional team
  • Strong verbal communication and presentation skills
