Warehouse Receiver Food Distribution & Manufacturing

Job Description

The Warehouse Receiver ensures the accurate and safe receipt of packaging products, food products and raw materials in a food manufacturing environment. This role supports food safety, inventory accuracy, and compliance with industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities:



Receiving & Inspection:



Receive and inspect incoming shipments of raw materials, ingredients, and packaging. Verify delivery contents against purchase orders and inspect for damage, spoilage, or contamination. Check and record temperatures of perishable items to ensure cold chain integrity. Reject and report non-compliant or unsafe products. Ensure compliance with Transport Canada RIFs program regulations and safety procedures.

Documentation & Traceability:



Complete receiving logs, temperature logs, and quality checklists accurately. Label products with lot numbers, expiration dates, and storage instructions. Maintain Caddy traceability records in compliance with HACCP and regulatory standards.

Inventory & Storage:



Store items in appropriate temperature-controlled zones (dry, refrigerated, frozen). Rotate stock using FIFO or FEFO methods. Assist with inventory counts and report discrepancies.

Food Safety & Compliance:



Follow all food safety protocols, including allergen control and sanitation procedures. Ensure compliance with

HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point)

and

GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)

. Support internal and external audits (e.g., CFIA, SQF, Transport Canada). Maintain personal hygiene and wear required PPE in food-safe zones.

Warehouse Operations Support:



Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment safely (with certification). Stage materials for production and assist with interdepartmental transfers. Support outbound shipping and order fulfillment as needed. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, cold/refrigerated environment. Mechanically inclined to do maintenance and small repairs.

Communication & Coordination:



Communicate with procurement, QA, and production teams regarding delivery issues. Coordinate with logistics providers for timely and accurate deliveries. Report supplier issues or non-conforming products promptly. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

Housekeeping & Maintenance:



Keep receiving and storage areas clean and organized. Dispose of packaging and waste according to food safety standards. Ensure disposal company are compliant and adhering to their contract. Report equipment or facility issues immediately. Maintain cleaning checklist daily and submit completed weekly to QA staff. Report any deficiencies, or equipment repairs needed to any Manager.

Continuous Improvement:



Participate in training on food safety, warehouse systems, and equipment use. Suggest improvements to receiving processes and inventory accuracy. Support lean manufacturing and 5S initiatives.

Preferred Certifications:



HACCP Certification

- Required or willing to obtain.

GMP Training

- Required.

SQF Certification

- Preferred.

Strong written and reading English skills are essential

Food Handler Certification

- Preferred.

Forklift Operator Certification

- Required.

WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System)


Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00-$22.50 per hour
