JOB SUMMARY



A Warehouse Receiver at Legends Haul plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the warehouse. The chosen candidate will be responsible for receiving and inspecting incoming shipments of raw materials, finished products, and supplies. This role also plays a large part in efficiently managing inventory and ensuring accuracy. The Warehouse Receiver is also responsible for organizing and maintaining a large portion of the warehouse area. This includes the freezer and cooler spaces which requires collaboration with other team members for maximum utilization and organization.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES



Receive and inspect incoming shipments:

Receive deliveries of raw materials, finished products, and supplies from vendors with the use of forklift and/or pallet jack Inspect shipments for accuracy, quality, and condition, ensuring each meet the company's food safety and quality standards Verify quantities against purchase orders and resolve discrepancies
Inventory management:

Accurately record, scan, and update inventory data in the warehouse management system Organize and store materials and products in designated pick locations within the warehouse Rotate stock as needed to maintain product freshness and minimize waste
Documentation and record-keeping:

Maintain accurate records of received shipments, including packing slips, invoices, and other relevant documentation Enter data into computer systems and generate reports as required Work with cross functional departments to keep track of damaged or defective products and initiate appropriate actions, such as returns or replacements
Warehouse organization and cleanliness:

Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment, mainly freezer and cooler areas Ensure that aisles, storage areas, and receiving docks are clear and free from hazards Properly dispose of packaging materials and maintain recycling procedures Adhere to health and safety guidelines and participate in regular safety training
Collaboration and communication:

Work closely with warehouse supervisors and cross functional teams to coordinate incoming shipments and prioritize tasks Promptly communicate issues or concerns related to inventory, quality, or safety Assist in cross-training and supporting other warehouse functions as needed

ROLE QUALIFICATIONS



Education and experience: High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment is preferred and forklift certification is an asset.

Familiarity with the meat manufacturing and distribution industry is a plus Attention to detail: Strong attention to detail is essential to accurately inspect and document incoming shipments. The ability to identify and resolve discrepancies promptly is crucial for maintaining inventory accuracy Organizational skills: Excellent organizational skills are necessary to efficiently manage incoming shipments, maintain proper inventory storage, and ensure a well-organized warehouse environment Physical stamina: Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting heavy objects (up to 70 pounds), standing, bending, and walking for extended periods.

Must be comfortable working inside freezer and cooler for a prolonged period of time

Communication skills: Effective communication is essential to collaborate with team members, suppliers, and other stakeholders. Strong verbal and written communication skills are needed to accurately document information and communicate issues effectively Computer skills: Basic computer skills and experience with warehouse management systems or inventory tracking software are beneficial. The ability to learn and adapt to new technologies is important Dependability: The Warehouse Receiver must be reliable and punctual, as they play a vital role in the smooth operation of the warehouse. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is crucial
