Position Summary

Essential Job Functions:


  • Acts as a strategic business partner and advisor to the R&D organization to develop, document and execute near and long term plans

  • Collaborate with executive team members to determine and prioritize business strategies while interacting with and influencing business leaders and finance team members across the organization

  • Establish critical reports and analytics that support the needs of internal R&D executives and external shareholders, while managing company-wide data requests efficiently

  • Partner with the R&D organization to manage the overall annual Budget, quarterly forecast and annual long range plan (strategic plan) processes

  • Coordinate with R&D team and accounting function to manage month end close processes

  • Implement standardized Management Reporting and aligned KPIs to increase accountability and drive attainment of R&D and Company-wide financial goals

  • Manages complex excel-based models; comfortable navigating various data sources, scenario-generation, and building assumptions/inputs/outputs

    • Experience with business valuation, cash flow and return modeling (ROI, ROIC, IRR, NPV, share price accretion criteria)

  • Develop business cases for both organic and inorganic investments through approval and implementation processes

  • Interacts with All Executive Committee members and their direct reports frequently as part of the project management efforts

  • Engage and lead process improvement and automation initiatives (including leveraging various BI and reporting toolsets); deep dive into all relevant data, and improve management reporting to be more reliable, transparent, and actionable

  • Proactively work with Global R&D functional leaders to understand spending needs and activities, predict future demands, and highlight savings and efficiency opportunities

    • Ability to understand the impacts to profit and balance sheet stemming from impacts to key operating levers

  • Understanding of key accounting principles and navigation of finance process flows

  • Implement a winning culture: provide team members with opportunities to cross train and develop skill sets to drive a robust succession plan

  • Support and execute ad-hoc / special projects as required


Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of accounting/finance positions, business development and/or corporate strategy

  • Management Consulting experience a plus

  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills to assist with the daily operation of an organization

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Track record of working across multiple teams and departments

  • Experience in building integrated financial models and have strong Excel/PowerPoint/BI/ERP reporting skills


Education:

  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree from an accredited four-year university in Finance, Accounting or Technology field

  • Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree preferred but not required


Preferred Experience:

  • M&A, new business / market analysis

  • Data Analytics

  • Performance Metrics

  • Excel/Hyperion/HFM/PowerBI/Incorta/Tableau/Other BI reporting tools

  • Financial business partnering


Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills across all levels of an organization, and especially with Executive Committee personnel

  • Able to quickly understand and explain complex data/issues and distill complex and voluminous data into understandable and/or actionable information

  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate forward looking changes required for shifts in business operations and strategy

  • Strategic mindset with the ability to develop and lead new business models

  • Change mindset \xe2\x80\x93 embrace process improvement to find areas of enhancement and efficiencies

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures

  • Strong systems aptitude and business focus, experience with Hyperion, HFM, Oracle ERP or similar software(s) a plus

  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills

  • Strong initiative with a proven ability to follow-through on projects and bring them to a timely completion

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

  • Ability to gain trust at the highest levels of the organization

  • Excellent problem-solving skills

  • Strong emotional intelligence with demonstrated sustained leadership in a large organization involving multiple stakeholders

  • Self-motivated and analytical
