The opportunity
Reporting to the Regional Senior Vice President, CWB\xe2\x80\x99s Vice President & Market Lead, Edmonton Downtown District will provide leadership to the banking centre and district leaders, including developing strong client relationships and excellent people leadership practices. The Edmonton Downtown area encompasses two flagship banking centre locations in the core of Edmonton. This position requires an inspirational leader who will lead the development, growth, and profitability of the market. They will drive and direct business development activities, working collaboratively with a direct team of five District and Banking Centre leaders, as well as approximately 50 indirect reports to ensure successful outcomes. Internal peers include leaders from several other lines of business including Wealth, Real Estate, Equipment Financing, and Specialty Financing. They will also curate strong relationships with the departments of People & Culture, Information Services, Treasury, Premises, Credit Risk Management, Credit Analytics, Internal Audit, Strategy, Communications and Legal, as well as the Client Solutions leadership team. As a collaborative leader, the VP & Market Lead, Edmonton Downtown District will aim to create a thriving culture that encourages diversity of thought with an emphasis on developing unique solutions reflective of CWB\xe2\x80\x99s drive for excellence. They are a natural leader who is accountable for the development of long-lasting partnerships with clients and enduring development of people and teams.

Qualifications & Competencies
The ideal candidate is a seasoned banking professional with strong commercial acumen with a proven track record of building successful, long-term relationships with key clients across various industries. They will have 10-15 years of experience including large scale team leadership, management, credit, and structuring experience, as well as an undergraduate degree in business, finance, commerce, or a related field. Designations or certificates are also beneficial. The ideal VP & Market Lead, Edmonton Downtown District demonstrates the capacity to initiate and implement a strategic business plan, as well as the ability to seize opportunities for growth as they appear. They will have a record of proven analytical skills in assessing risk and a sound understanding of risk management. They will have a strong knowledge of fiscal management and prudence, business finance, capital funding, contracts, and partnerships, which can be utilized across all stages of a business\xe2\x80\x99 growth, from an entrepreneurial start up to established and complex organizations. In addition to these qualifications, the VP & Market Lead, Edmonton Downtown District brings core competencies in written, verbal, and virtual communication; team leadership; relationship building; and fostering a positive and thriving culture that encourages diversity of thought.
