Refood Food Rescue Foundation ? Vancouver Based on a report by the BC Center for Disease Control (BCCDC), about one in nine households (11.8%) in British Columbia are considered food insecure. Refood Food Rescue Foundation is a non-profit charity that responds to this problem by reducing food waste, repurposing unattractive food, and re-educating the public about food. By partnering with grocers and local non-profit organizations, we serve at-risk populations with surplus food that otherwise would have gone to waste. Since inception, Refood has delivered over 500,000 meals to those in need in the Greater Vancouver area. Profile / Volunteering position: Volunteer HR Coordinator No. of openings: 1 Estimated Time Commitment: At least 4 hours per week, virtual Mandatory weekly meeting: Mondays 6:30pm to 7pm Immediate start date; minimum commitment of 3 months is required. Scope of Work

• Recruitment and hiring. Tasks include posting positions, reviewing resumes, interviewing candidates, hiring
• Ability to compose job profiles
• Updating Standard Operating Procedures and performing tasks related to compliance
• Project management in engagement and retention
• Provide orientation and on-boarding to new volunteers

Desired Qualifications

• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work independently with little to no supervision
• Experience in recruitment and hiring
• Skills in engagement and retention programs
• Familiar with relevant employment law
• Professional, organized, and experience in project management

Accountability The Volunteer HR Coordinator will have end-to-end accountability of HR processes and will report to the HR Manager Benefits

• Gain valuable and transferable work experience in the HR field
• Receive a letter of recommendation after the successful completion of a project or after a 6 month term. Refood will also serve as a reference, if appropriate.
