is a leading private training organization dedicated to providing high-quality, hands-on education for careers in manufacturing. We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Vocational Teacher to join our team and train the next generation of skilled machinists.
The ideal candidate will have extensive industry experience in CNC and conventional machining, combined with a passion for teaching and mentoring adult students.
Key Responsibilities
Instruction & Training:
Deliver engaging lectures, lead discussions, and provide practical, hands-on training to adult students in classroom, lab, and shop settings.
Curriculum Development:
Prepare comprehensive teaching materials, course outlines, and lesson plans.
Shop Operation:
Set up, operate, and maintain a variety of conventional and Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) machine tools (Mills and Lathes) for instructional purposes.
Student Evaluation:
Prepare, administer, and grade tests, shop projects, and papers to evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback.
Mentorship:
Advise students on program curricula, professional expectations, and career decisions in the manufacturing industry.
Supervision:
Train and supervise groups of students (16-20 people) in practical shop work sessions, ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
Administration:
Prepare reports and maintain student records as required.
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
Education:
College Diploma / CEGEP or equivalent.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing or machine tool environment.
Technical Skills:
Proven expertise in setting up, operating, and programming CNC Mills and Lathes.
Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (e.g.,
SolidWorks
,
MasterCAM
).
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Personal Suitability:
Excellent oral communication and effective interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational skills, reliability, and sound judgment.
A client-focused, team-player attitude.
Flexibility:
Must be available to work day, evening, and weekend schedules as required.
Preferred:
Previous experience in teaching, corporate training, or supervising apprentices/junior staff.
