Currently, we seek motivated and mechanically inclined individuals for our manufacturing locations.
Safely operate CNC Mill or Lathe by manually loading and unloading parts.
Complete and document required quality checks and inspections.
Polish and wash any parts during cycle.
Correctly read blueprints and troubleshoot basic problems prior to seeking assistance from CNC Set-Up Operator or Supervisor.
Inspect cutting tools for sharpness and usability and alert CNC Set-Up Operator / Supervisor if tool wear is evident.
Understand when inserts need to be changed and adjust offsets as required.
Reset CNC machine after cycle interruption and test the machine.
Verify accuracy of machine settings and detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining with advanced use of precision measuring instruments such as height gauges or indicators.
Clean and upkeep CNC machines and surrounding work area.
Ensure continuity between shifts through clear and complete documentation of actions, irregularities and continuing needs.
Follow quality management system policy and procedures as per ISO 9001:2015.
Maintain work area clean and organized, and follow health & safety rules.
Requirements:
Perform required functions without sacrificing production standards, quality or safety.
Minimum 2 -3 years' experience as a CNC Machine Operator.
Knowledge on use of the different precision measuring tools.
Working knowledge of OHSA and WHMIS.
Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve effectively and efficiently.
Ability to prioritize tasks and execute results to achieve customer satisfaction.
Ability to deal with conflict, stress and time constraints in an efficient, professional, courteous manner.
Good written and verbal communications skills.
Must be capable of sitting, standing and walking for extended periods of time.
Physical Demands:
Required to carry out routine, repetitive tasks such as reaching, pushing, pulling, standing, walking, lifting, packing, stacking, bending, climbing / descending / going under or on equipment as well as some physical lifting.
Regularly exposed to noise, temperature change and lubricants and vibration.
Wears all PPE as required.
