River Path Veterinary Clinic is searching for a Receptionist and Office Manager to support our independent clinic in Fireside, Cochrane. Responsibilities: The role of our Veterinary Reception and Office Manager is to support the veterinary medical team at River Path Veterinary Clinic. This position will require a combination of customer service and administrative skills. We are a small business, so this position entails a variety of responsibilities:
  • Answering phone calls and emails in a professional way; representing the business positively.
  • Warmly greeting clients and pets who enter the clinic and preparing them for appointments.
  • Assisting the Practice Owner in office management tasks, organization, human resources management, team building, accounting and communication as required.
  • Scheduling appointments and working with multiple schedules efficiently and sensitively.
  • Receive supplies and medications, check orders for accuracy and update inventory.
  • At times, working patiently with distressed or frustrated clients to manage their expectations while demonstrating empathy.
  • Taking medication requests for the medical staff to fulfill
  • Cleaning duties including but not limited to: keep reception desk area and waiting room cleaned, laundry; cleaning floors, bathroom, and exam rooms.
  • Available weekdays with alternating Saturdays
Desired Attributes and Requirements: The ideal candidate demonstrates:
  • Accurate and consistent attention to detail is of primary importance.
  • Above average time management skills and organization.
  • Experience in running a small business is an asset.
  • Patient and calm under pressure, with a positive attitude and encouraging to other staff to support a positive work environment.
  • Professional and discerning, considering multiple important factors when triaging patients on the phone. Doesn\xe2\x80\x99t jump to decisions too quickly. Knows when to ask for help.
  • Willingness to step in where needed and fulfill multiple roles. Open to change, and adaptable when required.
  • Confidence and comfort with cats and dogs of all sizes and temperaments.
  • Prior experience in customer service and administration duties.
  • Medical terminology experience is an asset but not required.
  • Ability to quickly learn new software
Job Types: Full-time is desired, but part time will be considered. Permanent position. Pay: $16-$20 per hour based on experience in applicable areas of veterinary, small business management and customer service. The post will be open until a suitable candidate is found.
