Job Summary

We are a small Veterinary Clinic seeking a compassionate and dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to animals, assisting the veterinarian in various procedures, and ensuring a clean and safe environment for both pets and staff. This position requires a strong understanding of animal care, veterinary terminology, and the ability to handle animals with confidence.

Duties

Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures, ensuring the comfort and safety of the animals. Perform animal handling tasks including restraint. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including kennels and treatment areas. Prepare animals for surgery. Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian. Conduct laboratory tests such as blood work and urinalysis. Monitor animal vital signs during procedures and report any abnormalities. Provide education to pet owners regarding animal husbandry, nutrition, and care. Assist with X-ray procedures while ensuring safety protocols are adhered to.

Experience

Candidates should possess the following skills or experiences:

Previous veterinary experience or veterinary technician experience is preferred, but we are willing to train a suitable candidate. Experience in handling and caring for dogs and cats.
