Heritage Hills Veterinary Clinic is under new management and looking to add to our team! We are seeking a compassionate and organized Veterinary Assistant/ Receptionist to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for pet owners and their beloved animals, providing exceptional customer service and assisting with the duties of our veterinarians and technicians. Your responsibilities will include scheduling appointments, handling patient records, and assisting with patient care tasks as needed. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a strong ability to communicate effectively with both clients and staff. Grooming assistance experience would be considered an asset.
Responsibilities
Greet clients and their pets warmly upon arrival at the clinic.
Schedule and confirm appointments, ensuring efficient use of the veterinarian's time.
Maintain accurate patient records and manage electronic documentation.
Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding services, procedures, and pet care.
Process payments and manage billing inquiries with professionalism.
Assist in laboratory tasks as required, including sample collection and processing.
Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and welcoming for clients.
Collaborate with veterinary staff to ensure smooth clinic operations.
Assisting with patient care tasks, and assisting our veterinarians and technicians with patient care.
Requirements
Previous experience as a receptionist or in a customer service role is preferred.
VMA program is an asset, but not required.
Familiarity with veterinary terminology and procedures is a plus.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
Proficiency in using office equipment and software applications related to scheduling and record keeping.
