Position: Vendor Management Inventory (VMI) Planner
Location: Pickering
Job Type: Full-time, permanent

As a VMI Planner, you will be responsible for the planning and procurement of products and services from the company and other third-party vendors. Products are subsequently resold to the company\'s customers (distributors) or consumed in manufactured goods and services are used in general facility maintenance.

- Assist with the resolution of client questions and concerns relating to the implementation of VMI
- Work with the team to maintain strong client relationships through the implementation period and ongoing
- Good understanding of Vendor Managed Inventory programs - experience with SAP
Responsibilities include:
- Control the level of stock to meet pre-assigned inventory level targets for the company or customers through Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI)
- Handle customer complaints in a courteous, helpful, and professional manner when it is directly tied to VMI
- Maintain and enhance customer relations and provide reliable and prompt communications to our VMI Trading Partners with both written and verbal excellence
- Advise all parties of any challenges with account status, acting as a facilitator for \'can-do\' problem resolution
- Provide centralized account management to our VMI Trading Partners through inventory management review of VMI locations on a daily/weekly/monthly/semi-annual basis; involving review of stocking mix recommendations, order points, order quantities, errors, exceptions, demand smoothing, and overrides
- Coordinate with the back-office support team to execute these duties
- Handle incoming customer requests, challenges, and concerns
- Actively communicating to trading partners issues and actions involving the management of inventory and the VMI process
- Coordinate the review and launch of VMI orders and review issues related to the successful communication of PO Acknowledgements and Advanced Ship Notices
- Develop routine performance reports, analyze them, and distribute them to company management, field sales, and distributor personnel as required
- Develop VMI returns and coordinate reviews and approvals through a defined automated methodology
- Continue to make sure all VMI Partners are connected to the automated pre-approval returns program, creating efficiencies by making the company easy to do business with
- Assist in product life cycle management and launches to manage inventory history data and order point/order quantity overrides
- Handle incoming requests relative to e-commerce services, order changes, order cancellations, incorrect shipments, requests for proof of delivery, verification of shortages and invalid/discontinued/suggested replacement items
To succeed, you will need to:
- Bachelor\'s degree (B. A.) in an analytical field (operations, business, etc.) - preferred - from a four-year college or university
- At least 5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; preferably in a distribution environment
- Must have strong SAP and Microsoft Office background
- CAPIC/APIC certification, an asset
