If so, Sun Life will be seeking a User Experience (UX) Researcher to join our User Experience (UX) team within the Client Experience Office.

As a UX Researcher you will work closely with Senior UX Researchers, UX Designers, and Product Owners throughout the product design and validation process. You will help identify opportunities for research, choose the appropriate methods and audience, conduct research activities, and present results to internal stakeholders. You will also help maintain and manage our user testing platform, competitive intelligence database, and research library.

What will you do?

• Planning and supporting research activities for multiple projects/business units
• Assisting with running predefined usability studies (concept tests, benchmarking studies, etc.)
• Administering task-based testing across a variety of applications and experiences
• Triaging incoming inquiries to our research team
• Managing access and administering our user testing platform
• Creating and updating documentation related to our user testing platform
• Reviewing user testing scripts and publishing tests
• Assisting with data analysis and report writing
• Identifying trends in data collected and preparing/sharing insights with various internal audiences
• Contributing to and categorizing material in our competitive intelligence library
• Creating self-serve research guides/templates for internal use
• Providing training/instruction to internal teams in tool usage and user research best practices
• Reviewing other internal reports/data sources (client surveys, app store reviews, etc.) and updating tracking documents
• Organizing and maintaining our research repository
• Assisting with web analytics requests

What do you need to succeed?

• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree or diploma in one of the following areas (or equivalent work experience):

• Social Sciences (Psychology, Anthropology, Sociology, Communications, Economics etc.)
• Human-Computer Interaction / Human Factors
• Statistics / Informatics
• Systems Design Engineering
• User Experience Design or a related field
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with strong Excel skills
• Experience with qualitative research methods (interviewing, usability testing, ethnography, etc.)
• Understanding of experiment design and controlled data collection
• Well-developed analytical skills: able to review data, summarize key findings/trends, and communicate recommendations to multiple audiences
• Logical and detail-oriented head with conceptual, creative, and innovative heart
• Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Highly motivated and able to work independently
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
• Experience using prototyping software (Sketch, Axure, etc.) and user testing platforms (UserTesting.com, Optimal Workshop) is an asset but not required
• Experience recruiting user testing participants is preferred
• Experience conducting primary research is preferred

When a new position becomes available which matches your background and experience, the base pay range will be disclosed and correspond to the opportunity Sun Life will consider you for.

In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
