Our Experience Strategy and Design team is responsible for creating human-centered experiences that are useful, accessible, and a joy to use. Experience Design Leads are involved in both concept creation and design delivery. They develop design strategies and high-level designs, participate in user research to understand customer needs and mental models, and lead other UX and UI designers in creating detailed designs for delivery. Finally, they foster an environment and create processes that promote collaboration between different disciplines and departments.
The Experience Strategy and Design team has a Experience Design Lead position available, leading design strategy and execution for our TD Insurance partners. As a design leader at TD, you\xe2\x80\x99re a true expert in your field, and are comfortable in a variety of disciplines \xe2\x80\x93 information architecture, interaction design, visual design, and product innovation. You\xe2\x80\x99re a hands-on experience design leader with deep experience leading and managing multi-disciplinary design teams to create complex, transactional experiences. You\xe2\x80\x99re a great storyteller who is at ease presenting and discussing your work with clients and stakeholders. You challenge old ways of thinking and put the customer at the center of everything you do. The ideal candidate is someone who can bring ingenuity and apply a proactive approach to solving meaningful design problems through innovation and design thinking.   • Create innovative experiences to address unmet customer needs and business drivers in line with TD enterprise design standards
  • Lead and motivate teams to deliver quality user experiences, providing hands-on design direction
  • Translate business strategy into a compelling end-to-end experience, understand business requirements, and identify new/missing requirements
  • Manage multiple design projects, ensure the delivery of high-quality designs deliverables, including information architectures, user flows, high-level designs, prototypes, and detailed wireframes
  • Lead design reviews and critiques
  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with business, product,technology partners and external vendors to ensure the delivery of industry-leading experiences
  • Promote cross-disciplinary collaboration by sharing knowledge, information, and subject matter expertise
  • Advocate for the best client experience, present and make recommendations to senior management and executives
  • Identify, escalate and mitigate risks to the client experience
  • Ensure an integrated design approach with other business areas and the enterprise as appropriate
  • Educate business partners on the benefits of Human-Centered Design
Requirements

    • A degree in design or a design-related discipline (industrial design, user-centered design, visual design, design strategy, design management, human factors, psychology, human-computer interaction, etc.)
    • A passion for great design and an eagerness to mentor creative talent
    • 5-7 years of design experience, with a minimum of 2 years leading a design team
    • Experience leading complex, transactional projects
    • Strong knowledge of product and service design
    • Conceptual ideation and visualization skills
    • Ability to articulate design approaches and rationales to colleagues and stakeholders
    • Strong communications skills and organizational awareness to build relationships with stakeholders, communicate difficult concepts and integrate work with other areas
    • Proficiency at problem solving in a collaborative environment
    • Attention to detail
    • Versatility and flexibility; ability to organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines
    • Willingness to collaborate
    • Self-motivated, organized and accountable
    • Proficiency at problem solving in a collaborative environment
    • Versatility and flexibility
    • Expert understanding of user-centered design methods and principles
    • Highly proficient in UX-related software packages (e.g. Figma, Axure, Adobe Creative Suite)
