This position will be reporting to the Training Manager, Regional Operations within Energy Delivery.Key elements of this role include:As the Energy Delivery Substation Training Supervisor, you will ensure the safe and effective utilization of human resources and material resources for the provision of excellent electric service to customers in your area. You will ensure Nova Scotia Power\xe2\x80\x99s standards for customer service are met or exceeded by utilizing a skilled workforce to complete operating, maintenance, and construction activities in an efficient and cost-effective manner.As the successful applicant, you will be required to travel & work throughout the province based on the business requirements to ensure the success of the ED Corporate Training Program. You will establish a mutually supportive working relationship with other ED field supervisors, regional and business administration support groups, external business contacts and planning workgroups.You will be responsible for the safety performance of the business unit areas under your influence by following the safety programs, conducting accident investigations, and ensuring that employees work safely, and the public is protected. You will be accountable for environmental performance as it relates to the environmental management system processes and initiatives.The ED Substation Training Supervisor will maintain good labour relations and employee morale by identifying training and development opportunities; ensure vehicles and tools are properly operated and maintained; maintain a current knowledge of rates, regulations, policies, procedures, practices, standards, and collective agreements. You will assist in the preparation of budgets and financial projections and will implement cost control measures. You must be available for rotational supervisory standby. You must demonstrate your ongoing personal commitment to the Capabilities Development Process.This position is considered a safety sensitive position.
