We are currently looking for an Energy Delivery Training Coordinator to join our Energy Delivery Regional Operations team in a permanent position. Reporting to the Manager, Energy Delivery Training Department you will be responsible for the duties listed below as well as supporting Emergency Storm Response.

As Energy Delivery Training Department Coordinator, you will:

  • Coordinate and participate in onboarding new PLT & Substation Apprentices (i.e.. IT access, truck training, MAHAD, safety, environment)
  • Ensure pay progressions are processed in a timely manner.
  • Provide administrative support for the ED Training Department and all apprentices in the Department.
  • Coordinate all NS Power and NSCC training during apprenticeship.
  • Assist with building budget for the ED Training Department.
  • Assist with upcoming transfers, send out letters, process relocation allowances, ensure communication is sent to affected groups.
  • Process expenses for Apprentices and crew (lodging, meals, living away allowances and school expenses)
  • Be a liaison with NS Apprenticeship Agency to ensure apprentice records are up to date and appropriate training is scheduled as well as work to indenture Apprentices and complete spreadsheet for journeyperson to apprentice ratio.
  • Keep records of training and pay progressions organized and available to those who require it.
  • Participate in Provincial Joint Apprenticeship committee meetings.
  • Participate in Apprenticeship Steering Committee meetings.
  • Coordinate and participate in yearly Apprentice recruitment evaluation and interviews.
  • Complete yearly Red Seal Tax Report for payroll
  • Work with ED Apprentice Training Supervisor on developing new training needs for all employees and Apprentices across Energy Delivery.
  • Assist if required in the role-out of training programs.
  • Work with HR and Safety on identifying regulatory and due diligence training.
  • Other duties as assigned by ED Training Manager
In this role you will work collaboratively with many departments and resources across the Energy Delivery teams. You will have opportunities to learn about the many areas of our Energy Delivery business working and supporting all of our training initiatives.

You will be responsible for your personal safety and that of co-workers by observing and ensuring compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations. You will be accountable for environmental performance as it relates to the environmental management system processes and initiatives.

You must be flexible and be available for overtime during peak seasons and after hour emergency service restoration.

You recognize yourself in most of the following competencies, and where possible possess the skills and experience listed below:
  • You possess a post secondary education.
  • You have a minimum of five (5) years related experience managing multiple projects, managing documentation libraries, and technical resource administration.
  • You are a team player who is a highly analytical, creative problem solver with strong communication skills.
  • You are a strategic user of technology tools such as Maximo, Field Service, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office.
  • As this position may require travel, you must possess a valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license with a clear driver\xe2\x80\x99s abstract. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
