THE OPPORTUNITY

We are currently seeking an experienced INTERNATIONAL LOGISTIC - TRAFFIC ANALYST to join our team in Montreal. You will place orders, source materials, and obtain quotes to ensure timely delivery of products.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Responsible for coordinating shipments and facilitating shipping departments located at (4) separate facilities.
  • Responsible for all carriers (UPS, FED EX, etc.), FTL, LTL, ocean and air shipments from overseas suppliers and to overseas customers, customs clearance and brokerage related to inbound and outbound freight.
  • Negotiate and implement contracts with appropriate freight carriers.
  • Audit all inbound and outbound documentation and check for accuracy.
  • Manage manual commercial invoice requests and document generation for one-off shipments.
  • Develop, monitor, and implement routings for inbound and outbound freight for best transit times, cost and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain matrix to capture freight savings, and report as directed to management.
  • Regularly present KPIs
  • Process and track freight claims and ensure payment closure, work with carriers and/or engineering to address root cause.
  • Maintain NMFC #\'s, DG and IATA requirements and processes.
  • Perform quarterly/annual internal import compliance audits US, CA, UK
  • Develop and track Customs brokerage KPIs and implement quarterly partner business reviews.
  • Build, generate and monitor US Customs ACE reporting.
  • Document and maintain compliance procedures for determining value, classification and Country of Origin (COO).
  • Assign and maintain tariff classifications for all items
  • Perform weekly import audits - preliminary review of entry data prior to 7501 submissions to US Customs
  • Conduct regular review(s) of duty drawback opportunities and manage duty drawback filing with appointed Customs Broker
  • Perform annual value reconciliation in accordance with US Customs Reconciliation Prototype and manage filing with appointed Customs broker.
  • Maintain FDA and other government agency requirements associated with imported products and returned goods.
  • Perform annual review of Free Trade Agreements including NAFTA eligibility for raw materials, semi-finished and finished goods.
  • Participate in and/or lead cross-functional process improvement.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED
  • 5+ years\' experience of freight experience for both domestic/international, inbound/outbound freight + import/export compliance
  • Dangerous Goods/Hazmat certification a plus
  • Familiar with both international and domestic freight quotation process (e.g., documents & requirements)
  • Ability to read and interpret government regulations (e.g., 19 CFR, HTS)
  • Completed Licensed Customs Broker preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with multiple departments including planning, purchasing, finance, customer service, sales and marketing.
  • Computer proficient with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Learn ERP functionality as required.
  • Ability to handle frequent interruptions, meet tight deadlines, focus and prioritize in a shifting environment.
  • Ability to handle difficult situations in a positive manner and remain focused on resolution and the common goal.
  • Attention to detail and 100% accuracy is required.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work overtime or various hours as required.
