Location: Toronto, ON - remote (potential 1 day/month in office)
Job Type: 6-month contract to start
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ESTThe Technical Writer will work directly with the Product Engineering and other Management teams to understand our client\'s products, market, and audience, and create a positive and engaging learning experience that will ultimately drive adoption of their products. Deliverables include release notes, product documentation, integration and deployment guides, FAQs, product tutorials, API documentation, and more.Responsibilities:- Work with internal teams (e.g., Product and Engineering) to understand solutions, use cases, and documentation requirements for retailers
- Produce high-quality documentation that is tailored to our target audience
- Create diagrams and other visual aids
- Edit content created by teammates
- Work with the Product Marketing team to understand and collaborate on positioning, tone and messaging
- Maintain a comprehensive library of technical terminology and documentationAbout you:- 5 to 7 years\' experience working in technical writing in both external and internal, or software documentation
- Experience in making complex concepts and/or technical products easy to understand for a business / non-technical audience
- Ability to deliver high-quality documentation paying attention to detail
- Understanding of how to provide and maintain the external voice of a company
- Superb grammar and spelling
- Ability to multi-task and juggle competing priorities in a high-pressure, results-driven environment
- Knowledge of current technical writing methods, trends, and technologies
- Preferred University degree or College diploma in English, Communications, Technical Writing, or a related field
- Experience with Markdown and \xe2\x80\x9cdocumentation-as-code\xe2\x80\x9d
- Experience with API documentation
- Experience working at a tech startup, in e-commerce or in the technology sector
