The team:
Scotiabank\xe2\x80\x99s Global Technology Services (GTS) \xe2\x80\x93 Strategic Portfolio Office manages the development, execution and performance of GTS\xe2\x80\x99 strategy & roadmap. We ensure a stable, secure & efficient infrastructure and service delivery, that protects the customer experience and supports business growth. We lead efforts around performance, optimization and innovation, best practice portfolio management, GTS financial management and transparency and GTS employee experience excellence.
The Technology Program Office reports into the Strategic Portfolio Office and is responsible for the delivery of GTS Strategic Initiatives. This includes Project/Program Management, Project Life-Cycle Planning, KPI Reporting and Benefits Realization. We provide an end-to-end view of all Global Strategic Programs and liaise with key IT Corporate functions.
The role:
Reporting to the Portfolio Director, you will be an active collaborator on the project team and responsible for driving collaboration/participation from various support teams around the globe.
You will work with business and development resources to design and document solutions to meet the business and project needs with a focus on the instrumentation of Dynatrace on critical information assets / key critical systems, SaaS migration, and other tools & monitoring initiatives.
You will work closely with the Performance & Capacity Monitoring (PCM) Team and act as the liaison between the business, the development teams and the PCM team.

  • You enjoy working the entire Business Analysis lifecycle, which includes hosting workshops with stakeholders to gather requirements for the creation of Business Requirements Documents & Functional Requirements Documents.
  • You\xe2\x80\x99ll gravitate to being the focal point between the business & technical teams; and adept at constantly following up and tracking the status of the project to bring the team back on track, or escalate, if needed.
  • You get excited over the prospect to design test approaches, aligning test cases and test strategies to requirements and user stories.
  • You can write clear and concise defect report and work as an empathetic advocate for the customer\xe2\x80\x99s quality experience; plus, triage and prioritize defects for remediation, with the PCM team.
  • You work well under pressure and juggle multiple tasks to meet the tight project timeline and prioritize the testing efforts accordingly.
  • You can jump to help with intake triage and any delivery management work required.
  • You can leverage your project management knowledge to work with large & complex project teams.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?
  • You can demonstrate excellent communication (verbal/written/presentation) skills. In addition, you also possess good relationship management skills to act as an effective bridge between the business clients & technology.
  • You have at least 5+ years of hands-on technical working experience as a Business Systems Analyst on Enterprise Systems / Applications AND/OR Performance Capacity Monitoring tools (e.g., Dynatrace and/or Splunk).
  • You have at least 5+ years of hands-on technical working experience in translating high-level business requirements into technical requirements, crafting user stories, creating/maintaining design documents; and ensuring team + application onboarding, and deployments are executed and delivered in support of the team\xe2\x80\x99s business strategies and objectives.
  • You have at least 5+ years of hands-on technical working experience in creating and carrying out test plans and assisting in the execution of test cases.
  • You have technical working knowledge with incident management solutions, real-time collaboration tools, mobile incident management and user reporting
  • You can demonstrate strong problem solving & negotiation skills.
  • You can demonstrate the ability to work in either an Agile or traditional Waterfall SDLC methodologies.
  • You have used Jira (or a similar issue tracking product) & Confluence (or a similar collaboration tool).
  • You have completed a post-secondary education in Computer Science.
  • An asset to have working knowledge on the following ServiceNow modules: Incident and/or Problem and/or Change and/or Workflows and/or Service Request and/or Hardware Asset Management and/or IT Operations Management (ITOM)
  • Any International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA\xc2\xae) certification is also an asset.
