Job Description

The Calgary Food Bank is looking for a Tech Support Analyst to join our Organizational Services team!Summary: This position is responsible for coordinating, planning, and directing activities required to achieve a high level of reliability and accuracy in the Calgary Food Bank's IT infrastructure, including databases and related applications.Primary responsibilities: Issue investigation, research, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting. Issues may relate to applications, handhelds, databases, telephone, and workstations Provide support to IT projects. Assist with hardware procurement. Ensure data and personal information safety.Tasks performed: Act as a liaison between Calgary Food Bank staff and IT service providers. Assist with policy, strategy, and budget development. Following the Calgary Food Bank's IT strategy, prioritize, manage, and implement projects. Expert resource on SharePoint, Yammer, and other Microsoft 365 applications. Support SharePoint users in creating content, document management, and site enhancements with a view to teaching versus doing.Decision making and leadership capabilities: Ability to prioritize own schedule to meet position and organization objectives. Able to work independently and provide timely reporting on progress. Be creative and bold in recommending solutions and working with the Calgary Food Bank team to bring them to completion. Ability to communicate effectively across organizational levels and with vendors and contractors.Education and experienced: Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field. Minimum 3 to 5 years related experience.Skills and capabilities: Analytical skills, enjoys asking questions and solving puzzles of a technical nature. Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Moodle. Experience creating, configuring, and using SharePoint permissions, libraries, lists, pages, views, and navigation. Proficiency with database design and maintenance and maintaining database performance. Project management experience and vendor and contractor relationship management. Understanding of data security, encryption, and archiving. Query building and programming experience including SQL, PHP, HTML, Java would be an asset. Experience with CRM, IMS, asset management and finance applications including Salesforce, as well as SharePoint considered an asset. Proficient with desktop and cloud-based applications, including Microsoft Office and Office 365. Business intelligence skills including data management, analytics, and reporting. Building test cases and executing test scripts as required.Working conditions and physical requirements: This is a regular, full-time position. The qualified candidate must be open to working outside of normal business hours and weekends.Working conditions are normal for an office environment and may require occasional visits to the warehouse.
