The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Senior Analyst, Learning & Development for the North Atlantic Technical Support to join our Learning & Development team within the North Atlantic. The work location for this role is primarily Remote within North Atlantic (Sudbury, Thompson & Saint John) with eventual access. This is a permanent position.

The Senior Analyst will provide technical and system support in the development of functional and non-functional training through collaboration with the development team, internal, and external partners and shareholders with the shared goal to effectively identify, plan, create, execute and continuously improve various learning programs for employees and leaders across the business.

In this position, you will:

  • Support the development of learning materials, activities, and assessments using internal content development software and or sourcing and utilizing external vendors.
  • Oversee the North Atlantic training governance process as required and prepare presentations in support training governance approvals.
  • Manage applicable budgets associated with each training item being developed to ensure contractors are accountable for contract obligations and adherence to an overall development budget.
  • Establish and maintain contracts with external training development consultants/contractors.
  • Act as Liaison between internal customers within the North Atlantic and the development team and external contractors.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal customers within the North Atlantic, Base Metals, collective bargaining units, and government authorities to ensure that all training development complies, and reflects, relevant organizational policies, health and safety regulations, employment legislation, and regulatory requirements where applicable.
  • Conduct learning needs analyses with internal and external customers and subject matter experts and then direct the design, execution, and improvement of learning experiences ensuring sound instructional design principles and processes.
About You

Education:
  • Mining Engineering Technology or equivalent or Tertiary Education in Learning Content Development or equivalent experience
Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in similar subject area.
Skills:
  • Extensive knowledge and experience and application of organizational development practices, processes, and principles.
  • Knowledge of the mining industry, specifically in mining equipment and processes \xe2\x80\x93 for both surface and underground
  • Experience collaborating with government officials, collective bargaining representatives and committees from a training/trainer perspective.
  • Strong project management and organization skills.
  • Developed capacity in problem solving.
  • Demonstrated experience with learning support technology, such as learning management systems, eLearning software, virtual classroom technology, and 3rd party learning applications.
  • Systems thinking; able to recognize patterns and trends in data, content and customer needs which will drive program design and delivery.
  • Influencing and relationship building skills to build a network of experts and resources to support training development.
  • Creative problem solver; naturally curious and can quickly research issues.
  • Comfortable working with a variety of systems, from MS Office to HR and learning systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Can successfully deal with a fast-paced environment with competing priorities across multiple stakeholders.
