Job Summary

Overall, they ensure the proper functioning of the yard and of customer service. Thus, they are responsible for the execution of tasks, both in the yard and in the warehouse. They must make sure to maintain a good working climate. They are called upon to manage and resolve, within the limits of their power, all the problems that may arise in the yard, at all levels. The team leader must also ensure compliance with standards and procedures related to occupational health and safety and coordinate the work of human resources

Main responsibilities

Customer service management

  • Manage customer complaints related to delivered products;
  • Provide excellent customer service in the lumber yard;
  • Ensure the accuracy of customer orders;
  • Follow up on next-day deliveries.
Operations management
  • Support the foreman in their tasks related to human resources;
  • Ensure that the necessary material is in stock;
  • Ensure the yard's cleanliness;
  • Make sure the boxes are filled;
  • Make sure to place the day's new arrivals.
Required skills and qualifications profile

Training/experience/certification
  • Hold a high school diploma or the equivalent;
  • Have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role (an asset);
  • Ability to supervise 3 to 4 people;
  • Forklift driving experience.
Knowledge
  • Have a good knowledge of building materials;
  • Have a good command of the French language, both orally and in writing, English (an asset);
  • Knowing the SAAQ loading and securing rules, an asset.
Required skills and abilities
  • Know how to plan and coordinate;
  • Demonstrate rigour, dynamism, integrity, and leadership;
  • Be a good communicator, motivator;
  • Be in excellent physical shape;
  • Ability to work under pressure.
Working conditions
  • Variable work schedule;
  • Outside work;
  • Loads up to 75 pounds to lift.
