If you are a talented and experienced Financial Systems leader, Aplin has the right opportunity for you! Our Regina-based client has partnered with Angela Degelman, Director, Accounting and Finance, to lead their next search. This role will be located in Regina, Saskatchewan.

The Manager, FS, P&A, will take a lead role in ensuring that financial systems and data are accurately and effectively utilized to deliver value-added business analysis and meaningful financial/operational reports that lead to insightful, accurate business decision-making. Working closely with all members of the finance team, this position will support of all aspects of financial analysis and planning, including budgeting and forecasting, as well as projects geared to improve financial process efficiencies and will have extensive interaction with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the budgeting and forecasting processes, including short and medium-term cash flow forecasts
• Develop and improve financial reporting, including key performance indicators and dashboards to help monitor the business
• Provide accurate and timely analysis and recommendations to management for decision-making and operational improvements
• Develop and manage analytical tools and processes to improve the quality and transparency of financial results
• Lead process and system improvement initiatives within the Finance department to ensure accuracy of financial data and reporting
• Development and maintenance of financial data structure to simplify reporting processes in all financial accounting and reporting areas
• Supervise, develop, and manage a team of financial analysts
• Assist Divisional Controller in setting the priorities within the accounting group
• Specific projects and other related duties as required

Qualifications:

• University degree in Business/Accounting, with an advanced degree or professional accounting designation (such as CPA), preferred
• Experience building or enhancing financial processes, models and/or systems preferred
• Good problem-solving skills
• Able to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independently
• Able to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines
• Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills
• Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures
• Attention to detail in all areas of work
• Proficient communication, interpersonal and organizational skills are vital to the role
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office and Excel
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter, able to prioritize tasks, has excellent analytical and communication skills, and brings a diverse financial background, including process improvement and system implementations
