Located at 3099 Barrington Street in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, B3K 5M7, and 35 Micmac Boulevard, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada, B3A 4Y8, Irving Shipbuilding has a proud history as Canada's shipbuilder. Irving, Limited group of companies, we have been building quality vessels and fabricated modules for more than 50 years, and our Halifax Shipyard has been at the forefront of Canadian shipbuilding for 130 years.

Since 2012, we have invested more than $400 million in facilities, people, processes, and technology, making Halifax Shipyard one of the most modern and capable shipyards in North America. Over the next 30 years our shipbuilders will construct 20+ modern patrol ships and surface combatants for the Royal Canadian Navy as part of Canada's National Shipbuilding Strategy, the largest defence procurement in Canadian history. This year we delivered the second lead Arctic and Offshore Patrol Ship, the largest Navy ship built in Canada in 50 years and we're just getting started. The third ship will be delivered in 2022.

Our workforce of over 2,000 will grow to more than 2,800 at peak construction of the Canadian Surface Combatants. Irving Shipbuilding Inc. is seeking a Team Leader, Continuous Improvement.

This is a permanent full-time role based in Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia. The primary language of work is English. Qualifications:

• Education Required:

• BacheloraEUR(TM)s degree, preferably Engineering;
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification;
• Change Management/Leading Change; certification e.g., Prosci or equivalent experience
• Experience Required:

• 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment (shipbuilding preferred);
• Previous leadership role held or prior experience executing projects/influencing stakeholders;
• Experience in leading problem-solving activities from identification, analysis through to resolution;
• Demonstrated experience of lean six sigma toolsets within a similar workplace setting;
• Demonstrated ability to foster positive relationships both with and among team members;
• Minimum of Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification from a recognized institution/company;
• Advanced change management/aEUR(TM)leading changeaEUR(TM) training certification or equivalent experience.

All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the Continuous Improvement Team by setting priorities and providing guidance and coaching to team members;
• Leading large complex cross functional improvement projects throughout the organization utilizing lean six sigma toolsets and techniques;
• Utilizing leading change principles to drive organization wide improvement projects;
• Execution and coaching of the following; Kaizen Events, supervisor onboarding, yellow belt training, Value Stream Mapping, FMEAs, SIPOCs and general workshop facilitation;
• Drive the implementation of CI projects to generate savings for the organization to schedule constraints and within budget;
• Assist the Senior Management team with strategic and tactical continuous improvement activities;
• Provide Governance and Structure oversight of CI initiatives.
