Department Overview
TD Asset Management Inc. ("TDAM"), a member of TD Bank Group, is a leading North American investment manager offering progressive investment solutions to both institutional and individual investors. As of December 31, 2021 TDAM and its affiliates manage over CDN$453 billion in assets on behalf of pension, insurance, endowment/foundation and corporate clients, as well as high-net worth clients and retail mutual funds, across both active fundamental and quantitative-based solutions, private debts and alternative investments including real estate, infrastructure.


The Intern will support the team with some or all of the following activities:

  • Work in one of the following teams within TDAM - Alternatives (Infrastructure or Real Estate), Fundamental Equities Research, Credit Research or LDI, Asset Allocation, Trading, or Investment Risk Management.
  • Collect, update, analyze, evaluate and present research information and report
  • Conduct analysis \xe2\x80\x93 both quantitative and qualitative
  • Validate data to ensure the integrity of the data and information
  • Support, produce and deliver reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Support projects focused on the ongoing improvement of our processes
  • Undertake projects touching on strategy, marketing, business and product development, portfolio management, finance, risk, governance, client service, operations and trading

Job Requirements

  • Organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task and maintain attention to detail
  • Good foundation in business acumen, capital markets, problem solving skills and analytical capabilities
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
  • Strong verbal and written presentation skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail are essential
  • Highly motivated individual with the willingness and flexibility to take different initiatives
  • Ability to operate within specialty software programs (e.g. Salesforce, Morningstar, Argo)
  • Must be able to work effectively in a team environment
  • Bilingualism (French and English) is an asset
  • Microsoft Access, python, financial modelling
  • Co-op experience in investment research, real estate, public and private securities analysis, risk management
  • Knowledge of investment products, financial accounting
