About the Opportunity

Our client in the Ottawa West area is looking for a Tax Manager to join their fast-paced, growing organization on a full-time, permanent basis.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Oversee team of Accountants, ensuring accurate and timely preparation of Notice to Readers, Compilation engagements
• Participate in Audit and Review Engagements
• Production of financial reports
• In-depth financial analysis, cash flow management
• Accurate and timely preparation of Corporate and Personal taxes
• Providing assessment and consultative advice on financial and like matters
• Working closely with Senior Management on leadership initiatives
• Provide training and mentorship to the team, with an emphasis on professional development
• Provide one-on-one evaluations with staff, working collaboratively to ensure both individual and team goals are met

About You

The successful candidate will have the following:

• 5+ years of experience in a Tax Accountant capacity, with at least 2+ years in a supervisory position
• CPA or in pursuit of CPA is a strong asset
• Proficiency with CaseWare or TaxPrep software
• Excellent communication skills (English mandatory)- written, oral, comprehension
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Highly organized, strong attention to detail
• Ability to lead a team with a strong focus on collaboration and building a supportive network
• Excellent interpersonal skills, self-starter
