We have an immediate opportunity for a Tax Compliance Manager, Canada to join our growing organization. This position can be based in any Canada location. The Tax Compliance Manager can work remotely or hybrid. The Tax Compliance Manager will work with the North America Tax Manager to support the tax compliance needs of the Canadian and US entities. You have a strong interest and ability to develop your knowledge of taxation by conducting research and pursuing external professional development. Responsibilities include:

  • Acting as trusted tax advisor to internal stakeholders on income, indirect, payroll, mobility and other international tax matters by conducting research and interpreting tax legislation and administrative guidance, including advising stakeholders of potential changes impacting the business operations.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely compliance with Canadian direct and indirect tax filing
  • Responsible for half-year and full-year income tax provisions for the Canadian and US entities, including tax effect accounting under IFRS
  • Collaborating with CRA, IRS, and other tax authorities to address assessments and to provide accurate information for audits
  • Responsible for accuracy of all tax accounts maintained within the general ledger
  • Driving the continuous improvement of the Canadian tax function
  • Supporting the implementation of income tax filing software and income tax provisioning software
  • An opportunity to learn or use existing knowledge to provide support to US team members on US income and sales tax
Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:
  • CPA Designation is required
  • Undergraduate degree in accounting or related field is required
  • CPA In-Depth Tax or master’s degree in taxation is required
  • 6+ years’ experience in Canadian income tax, with a demonstrated ability to research and analyze tax issues in depth and with a high degree of accuracy
  • Experience in the following areas is an advantage: Canadian sales tax, US income tax, US sales tax
  • Strong communication and project management skills with proven problem solving, research, and analytical skills
  • Advanced excel skills
  • Ability to work independently, remotely and manage multiple priorities at once
