A 140-year-old High Tech company has a position open for a Systems and Software Support Specialist.
Responsibilities:
Develop, Support, diagnose and isolate problems with existing applications and restore normal operations in a timely and accurate fashion
Communicate complex concepts to the development team and high-level stake holders
Plan and perform software upgrades
Lead an implementation team to perform Installations, training, and testing of the Ahearn software
Help define a project plan for a go live project of the Ahearn and Soper software
Support and participate in a customer go live event of the software delivered
Visit with customers to analyze operations and document findings
Recommend Ahearn and Soper software solutions to customer's business requirements
Occasionally visit clients at their locations anywhere in Canada and the US
Participate in after hours support incidents and implementation projects
Collaborate in planning sessions to define scope of enhancements
Develop software enhancements based on user requirements
Recommend optimal solutions for requested functionality
Implement scalable software solutions
Qualifications:
A Computer Science Engineering Degree
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for dealing directly with clients and coworkers. Fluent in English, written and spoken. French is an asset
Strong skills using Crystal Reports and Microsoft Business Intelligence
Strong knowledge of Microsoft OS/Server and MS SQL Server products including Reporting Services
Strong knowledge of cloud-based system, including Azure, AWS, VMware and Hut8
Experience building applications with Windows Form, Visual Basic, C#, CSS and Dev Express
Minimum 3+ years experience directly supporting customers using complex and business critical software applications
Experience and/or good understanding of logistics and supply chain industry
Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems and processes
Microsoft Certification is desirable
Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
Superior organizational, problem solving, and time management abilities
Ability to travel freely in US and Canada
Valid Driver's License
Additional Information:
Position Type: Full Time, (Remote work)
Work Hour: 9am - 5pm EST (35 hours / week)
Rotating 24/7 support is a future responsibility
Compensation includes salary plus benefits.
