& Summary In our Sustainability and Climate Change practice, within our Risk Assurance Services, we work with some of the world\xe2\x80\x99s largest and most complex companies to understand their unique business issues and opportunities in an ever-changing environment. We help create sustainable change by stimulating innovation, unlocking data possibilities, navigating risk and regulatory complexity, optimizing deals, and aligning costs with business strategy to create a competitive advantage.

Sustainability and climate change are at the top of the agenda for many organizations, but many are at different stages in understanding how they should respond. As part of our team, you\xe2\x80\x99ll help our clients balance competing economic, social, and environmental goals. We offer services to both public and private sector clients across a range of specialist subject areas. Our established team includes economists, natural scientists, engineers, finance, and accounting professionals \xe2\x80\x93 working with some of the world\xe2\x80\x99s leading organizations towards an economy with purpose.
In this role you will have the opportunity to apply your knowledge of and passion for one or more of the following areas:

Climate strategy, including physical and transition climate risk/opportunity and climate resilience

Decarbonization, including net zero strategies and emissions inventories (Scope 1, 2 and 3), target setting, and carbon pricing

ESG Strategy, including materiality assessments and build awareness/capacity with our clients

Sustainable finance, including applying ESG frameworks to investing and asset management

This role requires the candidate to be fluent in French

As a Senior Associate, you\xe2\x80\x99ll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Can work with Canada\xe2\x80\x99s biggest investors, companies, governments, and NGOs on their ESG and climate change journeys

Learn from leading Canadian and global professionals in ESG and climate change.

Gain experience across a range sectors including financial services, telecommunications, energy, mining, industry, public sector, infrastructure, etc., and over time develop a focus in one or more of these

Contribute effectively to complex, multi-disciplinary projects \xe2\x80\x93 often supporting several projects at a time

Continue to develop your technical understanding of ESG or climate change and how it applies to business, investment, and government decision making; and support internal and external thought leadership on specialist issues within ESG and climate change

Be supported by a team of climate change and sustainability experts

Support technical projects in areas such as climate scenario analysis projects

Support clients and PwC colleagues to build their capacity in climate change

Manage client consulting engagements over their life cycle

Contribute to proposals and other business development activities

Experiences and skills you\xe2\x80\x99ll use to solve

Demonstrated knowledge of one or more of: climate risk/resilience, climate scenario analysis, climate impact assessment, climate science, sustainable finance, the GHG protocol, life cycle assessments, ESG strategy, or SASB

Advanced understand of Excel, and well as visualization tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, or Alteryx, and programming languages such as Python

Experience or education in climate change, such as climate risk or scenario analysis, corporate inventories, decarbonization plans, and/or life cycle assessments

A background in one or more of climate science, climate finance, engineering, financial analysis, economics, natural resources, or nature/biodiversity.

Commercial acumen and strong program and project management skills

Critical thinking, intellectual curiosity, and problem-solving abilities

Ability to lead and work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams

Exceptional commitment to providing excellent client service, by building and maintaining productive relationships with both internal and external clients

Strong personal initiative, agility, and resourcefulness

Fluent in French and English

A demonstrated commitment to valuing differences and working alongside diverse people and perspectives
