Perla Oyster Bar & Grill is seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our vibrant culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation, cooking and food handling within a restaurant or food service environment. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality sushi dishes, ensuring food safety standards are met while delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests. Duties
Prepare and assemble sushi dishes with precision and artistry, adhering to traditional techniques and presentation standards
Handle all aspects of food preparation, including slicing fish, preparing rice, and assembling ingredients for various sushi rolls and sashimi
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations
Serve dishes promptly and professionally to guests, providing excellent customer service
Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and communicate needs for restocking
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and high-quality food delivery
Follow all food safety protocols during meal preparation and service to prevent contamination or foodborne illnesses
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant or food industry setting
Strong skills in serving, food preparation, cooking, and meal assembly specific to sushi cuisine
Knowledge of food handling procedures and food safety regulations
Experience with kitchen operations in a fast-paced environment
Excellent attention to detail and artistic presentation skills with passion for Japanese cuisine
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality
Food industry experience demonstrating proficiency in meal preparation and customer service is highly valued
