We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. We are authentic Omakase style sushi bar located in North Vancouver and Kyoto, Japan, with Japanese chefs. We provide japanese culinary training but you must have professional sushi making experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and a deep understanding of sushi-making techniques. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that meet our restaurant's standards while ensuring an exceptional dining experience for our guests.
Responsibilities
Prepare and present a variety of sushi rolls, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with precision and creativity.
Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety regulations and restaurant standards.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including proper food storage and handling practices.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service and high-quality food output.
Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and assist in ordering supplies as needed.
Stay updated on current trends in sushi preparation and presentation to enhance menu offerings.
Provide excellent customer service by engaging with guests and accommodating special requests.
Skills
Proficient in serving, food preparation, cooking, and food service techniques.
Strong knowledge of food handling practices and safety regulations within the kitchen environment.
Previous restaurant experience, particularly in a sushi or Japanese cuisine setting, is highly desirable.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in meal preparation.
Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and interact with customers.
