We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a deep appreciation for Japanese cuisine and the art of sushi making. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality sushi dishes that meet our restaurant's standards for taste and presentation. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and a commitment to food safety and hygiene.
Duties
Prepare a variety of sushi rolls, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with precision and care.
Ensure all ingredients are fresh and of the highest quality by performing regular inventory checks.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, adhering to food safety standards.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
Assist in menu development by suggesting new sushi items or seasonal offerings.
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in sushi preparation techniques.
Monitor food presentation to ensure it meets restaurant standards before serving.
Experience
Proven experience in the food industry, particularly in sushi preparation or similar roles within a restaurant setting.
Knowledge of food handling practices and food safety regulations is essential.
Familiarity with kitchen operations, including meal preparation techniques and equipment usage.
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
A passion for cooking and willingness to help others in the kitchen environment.
