We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, particularly in sushi and Japanese cuisine. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that meet our restaurant's standards while ensuring a delightful dining experience for our guests.
Responsibilities
Prepare and present sushi dishes with precision and artistry, adhering to traditional methods and recipes.
Ensure all ingredients are fresh and of the highest quality, maintaining strict food safety standards.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to plan menus and develop new sushi offerings.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station and kitchen area.
Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary.
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in sushi preparation techniques.
Provide excellent customer service by engaging with guests and addressing any special requests or dietary restrictions.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within the food industry.
Strong knowledge of food handling, safety, and sanitation practices.
Proficiency in serving techniques, meal preparation, and cooking methods specific to sushi.
Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is preferred.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
