We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Japanese cuisine, particularly in sushi preparation, and will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that meet our restaurant's standards. Duties

Prepare a variety of sushi dishes using traditional techniques and fresh ingredients. Ensure the presentation of each dish is visually appealing and meets the restaurant's standards. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations. Collaborate with kitchen staff to develop new menu items and improve existing offerings. Assist in menu planning by providing input on seasonal ingredients and trends in Japanese cuisine. Manage inventory of sushi-related ingredients, ensuring freshness and quality at all times. Train junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and food handling practices. Engage with guests to provide information about the menu and recommend dishes based on their preferences.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within the food industry. Strong culinary skills with a focus on Japanese cuisine, including fine dining experience preferred. Proficiency in knife skills and various cooking techniques related to sushi preparation. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for food handling. Experience in menu planning and meal preparation is highly desirable. Background in catering or food service is a plus, along with general kitchen experience. Excellent attention to detail with a passion for creating high-quality dishes that delight guests. Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
