We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with a focus on sushi and Japanese cuisine. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that meet our restaurant's standards while ensuring an exceptional dining experience for our guests.
Responsibilities
Prepare and present sushi dishes according to established recipes and standards.
Ensure the freshness and quality of all ingredients used in meal preparation.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and sushi bar area.
Follow food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
Assist in menu development by suggesting new sushi items or seasonal specials.
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques.
Skills
Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and serving within a restaurant environment.
Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations related to food handling.
Previous experience in the food industry, particularly in Japanese cuisine or sushi-making is preferred.
Excellent knife skills and attention to detail in meal presentation.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards.
Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
