Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong min. 3 years background in Sushi Maki making, Sushi, fish cutting, with a focus on sushi and Japanese cuisine. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that meet our restaurant's standards for taste and presentation. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and a commitment to food safety and hygiene.

Duties

Prepare sushi rice, fish, vegetables, and other ingredients according to traditional recipes and techniques. Create a variety of sushi rolls, sashimi, and nigiri with attention to flavor, texture, and presentation. Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with health and safety regulations. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper food storage practices. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours. Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and assist in ordering supplies as needed. Stay updated on current trends in sushi preparation and presentation to enhance menu offerings.

Skills

Proficient in serving techniques and food preparation methods specific to sushi making. Strong cooking skills with experience in food service environments. Knowledge of food handling practices and food safety regulations. Previous restaurant experience is preferred, particularly in a kitchen setting focused on Asian cuisine. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. A passion for the food industry with a commitment to continuous learning in culinary arts.

Pay: $30,000.00-$45,000.00 per year
