Overview


The Pembina Land department is responsible for all surface land acquisitions, divestitures, third party agreements, administration, and landowner/stakeholder relations. This includes managing and reporting on land activities (surface, reclamation, and contracts) for Pembina owned and leased properties, and providing advice on surface rights and land acquisition requirements. The team develops and executes strategic land acquisition, public consultation, and notification processes.

Reporting to the Land Supervisor, is recruiting a Land Analyst as a contractor. They will be responsible for the timely and accurate processing of land administration documentation for various pipeline and facility projects and operational activities within B.C., Alberta, and Saskatchewan. The position will be based out of Pembina\xe2\x80\x99s Calgary office (Eighth Ave Place) with the option to work remotely on both Mondays and Fridays. The term length is flexible depending on the candidate preference, experience, and qualifications. Your application will also be considered for future vacancies.

Responsibilities


Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
  • Manage the documentation for the acquisition of lands, right-of-way, damage settlements, rental reviews, well site, pipeline, utility right-of-way easements, lease amendments, temporary agreements & third-party crossings, road use agreements and invoicing;
  • Coordinate new acquisitions with land brokers, surveyor and other internal teams while meeting timelines;
  • Prepare required supporting land administration documentation such as crossing line lists, surface acquisition reports, damage settlements, landowner line list, public consultation report and notifications;
  • Review audit packages ensuring regulatory compliance;
  • Communicate with key stakeholders throughout the duration of a project such as clients, land brokers, landowners, regulatory officials, government agencies and Project Managers;
  • Prepare, execute and file land title registrations ensuring acute attention to detail;
  • Prepare, update and issue project status reports ensuring accuracy and effective communication of project progress, risks, issues and strategies;
  • Assist the Land Administration team with day-to-day land records management and Land related duties; and
  • Participate and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.


Job Qualifications


  • Completion of Petroleum Land Administration Certificate and/or technical diploma in an appropriate related discipline;
  • 10+ years of surface land administration experience, both Crown and Freehold, in the Canadian western provinces;
  • Working knowledge and understanding of AER, BCER and CER regulations;
  • Working knowledge of LSAS, Alberta Crown Surface Application process through EAP and OneStop;
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, CS Explorer, SPIN2, ETS, ICS, LTSA, ABADATA and ACCUMAP;
  • Must be familiar with, and be able to interpret legal plans, legal documentation, titles, and engineering drawings;
  • Willingness to take on a temporary contract position;
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills with excellent attention to detail;
  • Self-starter with excellent interpersonal, communication, team and organizational skills; and
  • Capable of working in a strong team environment, sharing accountability and quality of service.
