: The Support Services System Navigator will be an employee of Northwest London Resource Centre (NWLRC). Day-to-Day supervision/consultation will be provided by the Coordinator of System. Supervision will be provided in the form of formal supervision meetings as well as informal support as requested by the Supervisor.
Qualifications
: Social Service Worker Diploma, Social Work Degree, related fields of expertise or extensive experience of over 3 years actively supporting low-income residents.
Hours
: Position is a full-time position and will run from Monday to Friday. Some evenings when required.

$25 per hour with benefits after 3-month probation period.
Position overview
: The Support Services System Navigator coordinates access to essential services and basic needs for asylum claimants through the Interim Housing Assistance Program (IHAP). This role supports residents in securing food, clothing, transportation, and other daily necessities that promote stability and wellbeing. The Navigator assists asylum claimants in accessing and navigating community-based resources, fostering independence, and building lasting connections with local supports. Working within an integrated referral system, the position facilitates the exchange of information and referrals to ensure residents can effectively leverage community resources to meet their basic needs.
Client Support
Assess and respond to residents' immediate needs for food, clothing, hygiene items, and transportation assistance.
Coordinate access to community food programs, donations, and in-kind supports.
Provide information and orientation to local systems such as health care, public transit, libraries, and social services.
Support residents in developing the knowledge and confidence to navigate community programs independently.
Collaborate with Housing Stability and Case Management staff to ensure wraparound supports for residents.
Support the planning and delivery of group workshops and community connection activities that build social inclusion.
Build and maintain partnerships with local service providers, faith-based organizations, and community groups to expand access to resources.
Receive and send referrals through the coordinated system to connect asylum claimants with appropriate supports.
Maintain a comprehensive directory of local basic needs resources and ensure current information is shared with staff and residents.
Administration and Reporting
Track service usage, referrals, and client outcomes for reporting and program evaluation.
Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for program evaluation and funder reporting.
Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and organizational activities.
Ensure confidential handling of client information.
Operate in accordance with the policies, procedures, and protocols of SLNRC/ NWLRC.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Coordinator of System.

Familiarity with asylum and refugee claimant processes in Canada.
Proven ability to advocate effectively and navigate complex service systems.
Excellent communication, organizational, and crisis intervention skills.
Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle required.
Excellent interpersonal skills as well as verbal and written communication skills
Capacity to build relationships with, community members, and Professionals
Proven ability to work with diverse and ethnic/cultural backgrounds
Motivated, self-starter and able to work in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency with Microsoft office, email, and some knowledge of database entry
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Clearance through a Vulnerable populations police screening process
Current CPR and First Aid certification
