CASE MANAGEMENT WORKER



INTERIM HOUSING ASSISTANCE PROGRAM ( IHAP)



LUSO Community Services is a neighbourhood resource centre dedicated to fostering inclusiveness and well being through the delivery of compassionate, responsive programs and services for individuals experiencing adversity

We provide programs and services in the London community for children, youth, families, and seniors of culturally diverse and ethnic backgrounds.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Case Management Worker will deliver comprehensive, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive support to asylum seekers and refugees as they adjust to new legal, social, and cultural circumstances. This position includes direct assistance to individuals and families, advocacy, resource coordination, and working with community partners to facilitate the well-being, safety, and integration of asylum seekers and refugees.

The Case Management Worker will work closely with other LUSO team members providing support to asylum seekers and refugees to ensure a coordinated, collaborative and holistic approach to service delivery.

REPORTING:

The Case Management Worker will be an employee of LUSO Community Services. Day-to-day supervision/consultation will be provided by LUSO's Director of Settlement Services.

POSITION DETAILS:

This is a full-time position, 37.5 hours per week; Monday to Friday 9:00-5:00pm. Some evenings will be required. Services are provided in-person, this is not a virtual or hybrid position.

Successful candidate must be able to start December 1st, 2025



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:



Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' needs, strengths, and risks, including housing, health, education, legal status, and well-being. Develop and implement individualized settlement plans with measurable goals and outcomes Provide one-on-one and family support, ensuring timely referrals to internal and external services such as housing, health care, employment, education, mental health legal aid as well as community resources Assist clients in navigating asylum and immigration processes, including liaising with relevant government departments Coordinate with external service agencies, shelters and community organizations to strength referral processes and networks Establish processes to follow up with clients to ensure that clients have successfully met their settlement needs Advocate on behalf of clients with institutions, employers, landlords, social services etc. Maintain accurate records of client interactions, service referrals on client progress and outcomes in accordance with agency and funding requirements. Prepare monthly and quarterly reports Work closely with other LUSO staff, community organizations and professionals to ensure clients' needs are met holistically. This includes participating in multi-agency meetings to ensure coordinated support

QUALIFICATIONS:



Education:

Post secondary education in Social Work, Human Services, Sociology, Psychology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

Experience with specific populations:

At least 1-3 years of experience in working in a community setting with vulnerable populations, in particular with newcomers, immigrants, refugees

Knowledge of asylum processes and trauma-informed care

Familiarity with local community resources and programs social service systems etc.

Communication Skills:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write detailed reports and case notes.

Organizational Skills:

Ability to manage a caseload of clients, work under pressure, and meet deadlines effectively.

Compassionate & Non-judgmental:

Ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds and assist them with empathy and understanding. Strong understanding of cross-cultural communication, trauma-informed care, and anti-oppressive practices. Ability to be adaptable, resilient, and compassionate in responding to clients' changing needs and circumstances Strong crisis intervention and conflict resolution skills Motivated, self-starter and ability to work in a fast-paced environment Capacity to build relationships with community members, and other professionals Flexibility and ability to work some evenings and/or weekends if required to meet position outcomes Proficiency in case management software and Microsoft Office Suite Ability to communicate in a second language an asset in particular: Spanish,

Valid Driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle required

Must obtain a Vulnerable Person's Police Screening- before commencing employment


Wage range: $28.00-$28.70 per hour
