Reporting to the Manager, Financial Accounting, Systems, and Reporting, the Supervisor, Accounts Payable is responsible for supervising the processing of accounts payable and leading our large and diverse accounts payable team. This role leads a fast-paced department that is crucial to the success of our business by ensuring our vendors are paid on time and accurately. Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
Lead and support the processing of approximately 20,000 invoices per month
Allocate and supervise workload, as well as guide, train and develop a diverse team of employees
Measure efficiency and operational effectiveness by establishing key performance measurements and reporting against established metrics
Implement and adhere to internal controls, maintain process documentation, and ensure compliance
Support the team in finding solutions and clearing roadblocks; find opportunities to improve efficiencies and processes
Follow up on vendor queries and issues in a timely manner
Coordinate with internal and external audit team members, providing supporting documentation and responding to inquiries
Advise and drive the implementation of new processes
Qualifications:
Degree or Diploma in Business or Accounting
Minimum five years of accounts payable experience
Minimum three years of supervisory experience
Strong understanding of internal controls
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX ERP and SharePoint
