Overview:
Summer Student - Hay River
Provide support to the Asset Manager in various activities to meet objectives for thermal asset life cycle evaluation, to include but not limited to:• Potential project identification to asset disposal.
• Provide assistance and collaborate with other engineering and operations staff to gather necessary information that will aid the Asset Manager in making decisions for optimal asset lifetime performance.
• Plan, prepare and conduct power plant inspections in remote communities, by road and small aircraft.
• Complete asset health assessment reports post community visits.
• Become familiar and use the Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) system.
Responsibilities:
• Always work safely, adhere to all aspects of the NTPC Health & Safety and Environmental programs, comply with all rules & regulations, and continually practice health & safety while performing any duties.

Qualifications:
Qualifications: • Must be a post-secondary student in an Engineering degree program •or • Engineering Technology program with a major in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical discipline and who has completed 1st year studies.
• Must be returning to full-time studies in Fall 2025.
• Steel-toed boots are required.
• Must be willing to travel to remote communities for site visits, which may include flying on small airplanes or travel by road.
• Full Class 5 Driver's License is required (we cannot accept a 5P probationary license).
• Must have effective communication skills.
• Must have a keen desire to learn new skills and come to the role with energy and enthusiasm.
• Must have demonstrated ability in using Microsft Office suite.
• Must have the ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time.
• Must have dexterity to bend/crouch down and climb up/down vertical ladders.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings would be an asset.

This casual position pays $30.82 per hour plus 10% vacation pay. No housing or relocation assistance provided.
