We are actively recruiting for the role Summer Student, Law to join our team for a 4-month term from May to August, reporting to the Vice President Legal & Assistant General Counsel. The successful candidate will work in NorthRiver\xe2\x80\x99s Legal Department and will assist in-house lawyers in the provision of legal support to the organization. The role is designed for an eight-hour work day and the primary objective is to introduce the summer student to the day-to-day practice of law at a company. Responsibilities:

• Legal research;
• Writing opinions and memoranda;
• Drafting letters, pleadings and contracts;
• Project work of a legal nature; and observe and participate in meetings with in-house lawyers, internal clients, and external counsel.

Qualifications:

• 1st or 2nd year student of a common Law degree program at a Canadian university;
• To be considered for employment, the most recent unofficial transcript(s) must be submitted with the application;
• \xe2\x80\x8b\xe2\x80\x8b\xe2\x80\x8bStrong legal research and writing skills and strong organizational and communication skills are key qualifications.
