DESCRIPTION:
This position involves providing tenants with a high level of customer service in the completion of tenant requests for Fifth Avenue Place Calgary. The successful candidate will perform maintenance duties as well as learn the fundamentals of building operations under the guidance of the Supervisor, Operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Assist maintenance staff with basic maintenance (i.e., lighting, plumbing)

  • Maintaining and tidying mechanical rooms

  • Assisting with painting

  • Embody and support Brookfield Properties\xe2\x80\x99 Safety, Health, and Environment Policy.

  • Proactively identify, manage, and mitigate hazards to reduce risk to the workplace.

  • Engage in training and continuing education to develop the knowledge, skills, and competencies required to work safely.

  • Take action to stop work if it cannot be executed safely or if conditions or behaviors are unsafe.

  • Immediately report SH&E incidents, near-misses, unsafe conditions, and/or at-risk behaviors to their supervisor; then diligently work to correct the problem.

  • Promote safe work practices and safe working conditions in accordance with all Brookfield Properties Safe Work Procedures.

  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment when required.

  • Completion of other tasks as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

SERVICE / PERSONAL SKILLS:
The ideal candidate is an outgoing self-starter with exceptional customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills. A positive attitude is highly valued.

EXPERIENCE & TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Working knowledge of lighting systems and re-lamping procedures

  • Previous experience cleaning and maintaining equipment

  • General cleaning duties

  • Previous painting skills is an asset

  • Familiar with computers/Samsung

  • Must have an understanding of the maintenance and operational routines of mechanical equipment


EDUCATION / DESIGNATIONS / LICENSES:

  • Enrolled in the 5th or 4th Class Power Engineering Technology program or a relevant program such as Carpenter, Electrician, Millwright, Plumbing, Welder

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
