The Kerrisdale Community Centre is looking for energetic, enthusiastic, and responsible individuals to help lead our Summer Safaris Camp (ages 6-12).

Day Camp Leader
Term:
June 16 - August 29, 2025 (40 hours/week for 11 weeks)
Pay Rate:
$20 - $21/hour Includes an additional 4% vacation pay* Start and end dates may be subject to change based on program needs*
Responsibilities
Plan and develop daily and weekly age-appropriate activities based on weekly themes, including out-trips, arts & crafts, and games
Provide direct leadership and supervision for camp activities and outings, ensuring the safety and engagement of all participants
Communicate with parents, addressing questions and concerns, and escalate major issues to the Day Camp Manager and/or Recreation Programmer
Work with Recreation Staff to ensure smooth camp operations
Supervise, mentor, and evaluate program volunteers
Assist the Day Camp Manager with administrative tasks as needed
Qualifications
Available for the full camp duration
Knowledge and experience in planning age-appropriate activities for children
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle challenges in a camp setting
Experience working with children in a day camp, childcare, or recreational setting
Coursework or training in child development, recreation, social services, or a related field is an asset
Current and valid Emergency or Standard First Aid
and
CPR C (please attach a copy of certification to application).
Employment is contingent on a successful Police Information Check
Applicants must be between the ages of 15-30
Ability to speak a second language is an asset
