COF provides art education classes, programs and services for people of all ages and abilities. COF also provides summer art camps ages 5-12 years July and August each year. Summer Art Camp Coordinator The COF Summer Camp Coordinator (University Student preferred) is an integral component of the COF summer art camp leadership team. This team is primarily responsible for creating an educational, fun and engaging art camp program for all involved and provide other staff and volunteers with the tools and support they require to provide a safe and positive experience for our campers. Hours: This is a seasonal position including the following weeks: Monday, July 3-Friday July 7/23 Monday, July 10-Friday, July 14/23 Monday, July 17-Friday, July 21/23 Monday, July 24-Friday July 28/23 Monday, August 14-Friday August 18/22 Monday August 21-Friday, August 25/22 Schedule: 8:00 am - 4:15 pm *Some overtime work may be required Compensation: $18.00 /hr Qualifications: Ideally completed at least 2 years of post secondary education preferably in education and /or an art related field. Clear criminal record check with Vulnerable Persons Search. Proven leadership and interpersonal skills. Ability and experience working with and leading a group of children 5-12 years at a camp or in a similar learning or recreational setting. Experience mentoring, leading, supervising and working with other staff and volunteers. General responsibilities include: Work cooperatively with the Managing Director of COF to plan and execute camp programs and activities that feature art making, creativity, education, outdoor activities and adventure. Assume responsibility of camper care and safety. Mentor and support the staff/volunteer team. Ensure that safety standards and procedures are maintained. Specific Duties: Assist with planning, supervising, executing and evaluating a creative educational art camp program for the campers. Ability to take initiative for ongoing projects and new projects related to summer art camp programs. Create a detailed plan for all day camps with the COF Managing Director. Provide required supports to the art campers and teen volunteers. Be aware and responsible for ensuring volunteers are aware of any medical concerns or special needs within the group of campers. Assist in the supervision of the campers as needed. Ensure that all supplies, materials and resources are available to the camp team as needed. Keep camp area tidy, sanitized and comply with all COF and Public health and safety standards. Provide a strong role model and provide leadership for campers and volunteers while emphasizing creativity, skill development and health and well being in a wide variety of activities. Relay any concerns you or the volunteers may have or concerns of the general public to the Managing Director of COF. Write a weekly communication report on the details of each camp session and submit to the Managing Director of COF by end of day Friday of each week of camp.
