We are currently seeking a post-secondary student (preferably enrolled in Education) with Leadership skills who has a love of working with children and being outdoors enjoying our beautiful northern summer to assume the position of Summer Day Camp Coordinator.
Under the direction and supervision of the Special Event Coordinator, the incumbent will plan, organize, and implement a summer day camp program for the City of Yellowknife for the benefit and wellbeing of the participants. The incumbent will be responsible for the direct supervision of the day camp leaders and all those that enroll in the program. Please keep in mind the following requirements for our Day Camp positions with the Community Services Department:

  • You must have valid First Aid and CPR-C certifications. You will have to provide copies of these.
  • Include the dates you are available to work. A start date, and the date you must return to school are necessary. This position will begin in May and last until late August. You must be available for the entire summer!
  • Include any childcare experience you may have, either at a workplace, or informal babysitting.
  • You must have a Criminal records check completed prior to commencing work. You should keep in mind that this can take a couple of weeks to be processed.
