Calling all pharmacists interested in embarking on a northern adventure while serving Inuit communities!



The Inuulitsivik Health Centre is currently seeking substitute pharmacists for replacement assignments of any duration of your choosing.

Working at the Inuulitsivik Health Centre (IHC) means joining a dedicated team focused on improving the health, well-being, and living conditions of Inuit communities through accessible and integrated services. The IHC employs over 1,100 staff and is part of the Quebec health and social services network in the Nunavik region. It provides health and social services to 8,000 people across the 7 communities of Hudson Bay, from Kuujjuarapik to Salluit. The IHC also manages Ullivik, a facility in Dorval that hosts Inuit traveling south for specialized care.

Employment Conditions - Substitute Pharmacists - Northern Quebec (Hudson Bay Coastal Villages)



Salary:



Between $46.61 and $58.86 (depending on experience)

Benefits:



Incentive Bonus (6%): (minimum 80 hours worked per pay period) Attractive retention bonus, step bonus and northern presence bonus Cost of Living Bonus: Between $58.40 and $188.72 per week, depending on the village Remote Location Bonus: Between $203.66 and $240.25 per week, depending on the village

Main Responsibilities - Substitute Pharmacists - Northern Quebec



Community Pharmacy Role:


Pharmacists are medication and drug therapy experts. With their expertise, they can advise clients on illnesses and help prevent or cure them.

Focused practice on pharmaceutical care and therapeutic follow-ups Multidisciplinary teamwork Excellent collaboration with physicians

Tasks Include:



Ensuring prescription accuracy Reviewing and verifying prescriptions Analyzing pharmacological records Monitoring drug therapies Dispensing permitted medications to clients Educating clients about indications, contraindications, side effects, drug interactions, and dosages Advising on prescription and over-the-counter medications as well as health management Collaborating with pharmacy technicians Delivering exemplary customer service

Hospital Pharmacy Role:



Participating in activities related to medication distribution control, optimization of drug usage, and clinical and professional activities of the department Contributing to the development and implementation of new care programs, treatment protocols, and educational and research activities

Requirements - Substitute Pharmacists - Northern Quebec



Bilingualism (French, English); Inuktitut is an asset B. Pharm. or equivalent (Pharm.D.) Master's degree in hospital pharmacy (an asset) Member of the Quebec Order of Pharmacists Professional liability insurance

Essential Skills and Abilities:



Ability to interact with multidisciplinary teams Capacity to meet tight deadlines Experience in the health and social services network (an asset) Oral and written bilingualism Proficiency in Word and Excel Knowledge of Gesphar and Assyst-Rx software (an asset) Team spirit, strong collaboration skills, and effective communication Flexibility and adaptability Strong interest in working in different cultural and environmental contexts Ability to work under pressure and in emergencies Discretion, autonomy, responsibility, curiosity, and resourcefulness
