Early Childhood Educator Substitute
Job Description
Kingstec Campus Learning Centre is seeking a motivated and experienced Early Childhood Educator to be part of our Reggio-inspired program as an on-call substitute Educator. Our ideal candidate is dedicated to early childhood education, young children and their families. They would have knowledge and experience in emergent curriculum and an appreciation and understanding of co-learning with children in a program that emphasizes the natural environment and creative expression. We are looking for a candidate who has innovative ideas about learning through play environments and can implement these ideas in a team-environment. The successful candidate must be reliable, they must have outstanding communication and the skills to provide leadership and stability for the Centre's program continuity. Must be able to plan, supervise, implement, and maintain a developmentally appropriate program and environment for the children, which corresponds with the policies and philosophies of the Centre. Successful candidate will be paid according to the Nova Scotia Early Childhood Educator Wage Scale which is based on Level Classification and years of experience.
Qualifications:
Ideally have Early Childhood Education
L1, L2 or L3 Classification
Experience supervising young children and working in a team Knowledge of child development and the needs of young children Demonstrated awareness of food allergies and health and safety practices in licensed child care Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment; be flexible to the needs of the children, educators and the centre as a whole Reliable and self-motivated, ability to build positive working relationships with children, families, students and other educators Satisfactory current Criminal Reference Check, including vulnerable sector as well as Child Abuse Register screening Up to date First Aid/CPR trainingJob Type: Casual
Pay: $17.00-$29.64 per hour
Expected hours: 3 - 8 per week

Monday to Friday
